HOW THE DITCH WORKS

During the irrigation season the Lake Ditch will flow with the amount of water as designated and monitored by the Federal Water Master.  Water shareholders obtain their irrigable water via gates along the ditch. The Lake Ditch maintains the ditch, the irrigation gates along the ditch, and the flow from the gates on the ditch. The Lake Ditch Company does not maintain the laterals that flow from the gates.

LATERALS

All laterals must be keep completely free and clear of rocks, debris or anything that would impede or slow down the flow of water. Maintenance of the laterals is the responsibility of the shareholders who use that lateral, as is a rotation schedule for water use.

Water Allocation

The Federal Water Master also determines the amount of irrigable water each water shareholder can receive.
